Juxtapose: Espasyo at Panahon” Exhibit: Reimagining Historical Spaces 2018

The Philippine School of Interior Design presents “Juxtapose: Espasyo at Panahon”, an exhibit featuring 17 innovative space designs that breathe new life into historical structures. By reimagining their purpose beyond original functions, the exhibit highlights fresh approaches to interior design while celebrating cultural heritage.

The exhibit challenges audiences and heritage advocates to see the potential of old structures, particularly those needing restoration. These buildings, rich in history, serve as symbols of Filipino identity and inspiration for modern design.

Visitors will journey through three themed galleries:

  • Tahanan: Transforming old residences like the Bahay na Bato into contemporary living spaces.

  • Pangkalakal: Revitalizing commercial landmarks like Escolta and Avenida Rizal.

  • Pang-Industriya: Repurposing industrial sites and warehouses into creative hubs.

Highlighting adaptive reuse, the exhibit demonstrates how concepts like co-working spaces, bed-and-breakfasts, and boutique accommodations can redefine these forgotten structures for a vibrant future.

“Juxtapose: Espasyo at Panahon” is a tribute to preserving and innovating our architectural heritage.
